The Mirpur Islamicus Journal of Religious and Social Studies (MIJRSS) welcomes submissions of high-quality, original research and scholarly work.

Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts will be considered for publication only if they have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Concurrent submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal is unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Submit two hard copies of the manuscript along with a soft copy (via CD or Email) to the Editor. Manuscripts must be written in English, Urdu, or Arabic.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

1. Manuscript Format and Order

  • Begin each of the following sections on a separate page and in the following order: Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Results & Conclusions, and References.

  • Type the manuscript on white bond paper (A4 size paper) with margins of at least 1.5 inches (4cm) on the left for English and on the right for Urdu/Arabic.

  • Number pages consecutively, beginning with the title page.

2. Manuscript Title

  • The title should be accurately descriptive of the paper's content.

3. Author Information and Authorship Credit

  • To facilitate academic review, authors must provide their complete name, address, phone number(s), current position/title, and name(s) of universities on the Title Page.

  • Authorship credit may only be given to those who have made a noteworthy contribution in conceptualization, conducting, data analysis, and writing up of the manuscript.

  • The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

  • A co-authored paper must be accompanied by an undertaking to claim the right to authorship and ensure all have agreed to the order of authorship.

  • The journal does not allow the appearance of “guest” authors, as they make no significant contributions to the study.

4. Abstract and Keywords

  • Provide an Abstract of 150 to 200 words on a separate page.

  • This abstract should consist of labeled sections: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

  • The abstract should briefly describe the problem, the methods used, the salient results, and the authors’ conclusion.

  • Following the abstract, a list of Key Words relating to the article subject should be included.

5. Text Sections

  • Introduction: State the purpose of the article and summarize the rationale for the study.

  • Results: Present your results in logical sequence in the text.

  • Discussion/Conclusion: Emphasize the new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that follow from them. Link the conclusions with the goals of the study, but avoid unqualified statements.

6. Acknowledgments

  • A paper must always contain proper acknowledgment of the work of others.

  • The author(s) must also acknowledge the contributions of people, organizations, and institutes who assisted the process of research or provided financial funding.

7. References / Citation Style

  • Text and references must follow the format outlined in The Chicago Manual of Style.

  • It is the duty of the author(s) to conduct a literature review and cite the original publications.

8. Tables, Figures, and Images

  • Tables should be simple, clear, and double-spaced.

  • The same data should not be presented in both table and graph form or repeated extensively in the text.

  • The author(s) must provide an accurate description of how the images were generated and produced, and must ensure they are free of manipulation.

9. Ethical and Declaration Requirements

  • Declaration: A declaration is required that the manuscript contains solely the author’s original work. Authors must fill and sign the Copyright and Author Consent Form upon submitting the manuscript.

  • Plagiarism: Plagiarism in all its forms is unacceptable. Material quoted verbatim must be placed in quotation marks. The Similarity Report on Turnitin should be below 19 percent.

  • Conflict of Interest: Potential conflicts of interest of all author(s) must be conveyed to the editor at the earliest possible stage, including but not limited to employment, consultancies, and honoraria. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

  • Privacy of Participants: Authors must respect the privacy of the participant(s) of research. Explicit and informed consent of the concerned party must be obtained in instances where the identity of the participant needs to be revealed.

  • Data Access and Retention: The author(s) should provide raw data to the Editor if any question arises about the accuracy or validity of the research work during the review process.

10. Language Editing

  • It is the basic responsibility of authors to ensure their research papers are free from spelling, typing, grammar, and syntax errors. Authors whose native language is not English, Arabic, or Urdu must get their paper edited by a language expert.
